Snowflake

Community Partner

Warming Center Volunteers

Salem’s First Presbyterian Church downtown has opened their basement as a warming shelter for several winters. This year, because of reduced funding for the community organization that provides staff, they are looking for volunteers to help out at the shelter while it’s open. Volunteers are vetted and trained and are asked to work 3-4 hour shifts.

Kitchen Coordinator

Do you love organizing and tidying? This might just be the position for you! We're looking for someone to be our point of contact for the kitchen. That would include: Quarterly deep cleans, monthly maintenance checks, and weekly tidies; training new volunteers about cleaning procedures; improving signage and systems; monitoring kitchen inventory and deciding when we need to replace/add something. We estimate that this would take about an hour a week.

Thursday Reset

During Wednesday Programs, our classrooms, lobby, and restrooms get a lot of use! But then on Friday afternoons, we have a large homeschool group using many of those same areas. If you have an hour or two on Thursdays, we could use your help to reset classrooms, restock supplies in the restrooms, and make our building hospitable and ready for Fridays.

Tablecloth Washer

After ministry events, we often have a pile of tablecloths and other linens that needs to be cleaned for the next time. Would you be willing to take a load home to wash, dry and fold, and return them to church? This is a once-every-month-or-two role that would be a huge help to our admin team!

Plumbing

Facilities Department

Basic Plumbing

We have some aging faucets to swap out and a small sink trap to clear. Basic home plumbing experience should be adequate, but professional recommendations are always welcome!

Music Time for Children

Do you love to sing or play an instrument? Each week, Monday-Friday, there are 55 children ages 6 weeks-5 years old growing up with the loving care of our Child Development Center. Come spend 30 minutes (only once, or regularly) to share your love of music with a toddler or preschool class to show them the love of Jesus. â€‹
